About the opportunity
SSAFA/FORCES HELP provides support to ex-servicemen and their dependants. They are looking for a VOLUNTEER CASEWORKER to help review with a client their personal situation both financial and environmental and identify their needs before approaching Military and Civil Charitable funds for grants to satisfy those needs. They need people to commit themselves to SSAFA in a range of different positions. These include: Events Coordinator(s), Publicity Officer(s), Helpers to deliver leaflets, helpers to assist at events, before during and after, e.g. the SSAFA Saunter at Holker Hall on 1st September. They also need volunteers to help with small events.
About SSAFA Cumbria
As well as dealing with hundreds of clients each year throughout the county we try to hold a number of awareness events which publicise our activities to try to ensure that those who need our help are aware of our existence and what we can do. These events range from a 10k run, attending shows, a dinner dance, garden party, pub quiz and coffee mornings
What are they looking for?
A willingness to work to help others is really the only qualification needed, although as we meet the public face to face on a frequent basis our helpers/recruits would need to be able to cope with that aspect as well.
When can you do this role?
This is a Part Time opportunity.
