About NSPCC Child Line - East Midlands
ChildLine is a charity that runs a free, UK wide 24-hour telephone helpline for children and young people. Volunteers listen and offer support to young people who phone with a wide range of problems. The most common are bullying, serious family tensions, abuse (both sexual and physical), worries about friends and teenage pregnancy but ChildLine will talk to a child about anything they wish to talk about. Where possible ChildLine aims to support children to help themselves by discussing the options that may help their situations. Every day in the UK ChildLine receives over 5,000 calls, unfortunately only just over 50% will get through to our counsellors.
