About the opportunity
What is the purpose of the role?
To help CLIC Sargent fill 20 race marshal positions for the York 10k on 4th August 2013 in aid of children with cancer.
What is involved?
Route Marshals
Manage an assigned marshal point, ensuring participants take the correct course.
Water Point Marshals
Help set up the drink station ensuring hygiene guidelines are met.
Hand drinks to participants as they pass.
Both
Encourage and support participants as they pass.
Act as a point of contact out on route.
Answer and/or direct any enquiries accordingly.
Assist with clear-up.
What are they looking for?
Enthusiasm and energy to cheer on the runners
¿ Team work and communication ¿ you will be working with other marshals and supporting runners
¿ Marshaling will mean standing outside for a period of time, so be prepared to be on your feet!

¿ A full briefing will be sent out 2 weeks prior to the event and you will two opportunities to take part in a question and answer session with the event organisers.
