Functionality
V-Base 3.0 contains a host of new and improved features to make it even easier for you to use it to recruit and manage volunteers.
Easier data management
We've improved the tools you can use to manage your data on a day-to-day basis:
- Advertise opportunities that don't take place at a specific location with our new area'wide locations;
- Attach multiple locations to a single opportunity to save time entering duplicate data;
- Store multiple contact details for a volunteer, opportunity or organisation;
- Spell-check all fields in an entire record at the click of a single button;
- Create letters and e-mails even more easily with our simplified mail merge function;
- Link activities to any volunteer, opportunity or oganisation.
Capture additional information
V-Base 3.0 will contain a whole host of new fields so you can capture information you haven’t been able to previously:
Organisations:
- Capture data about your own organisation;
- Record details about an organisation's policies and procedures, quality standards and accreditations;
- Record an organisation's registered charity number.
Opportunities:
- Log the skills required to do an opportunity and those a volunteer can gain, use this information to automatically match opportunities to volunteers;
- Specify whether an opportunity's location can be published, for instance for displaying it on a map on Do-it or for use in a mobile application with GPS functionality.
Volunteers:
- Log the skills a volunteer already has and those they want to learn and use this information to automatically match them to opportunities;
- Capture additional information about volunteers' equality and diversity information and driving insurance.
All record types:
- Associate a volunteer, organisation or opportunity with a particular campaign, e.g. Volunteers' Week or Make a Difference Day.
More flexible reporting
V-Base 3.0 will contain more flexible reporting than V-Base 2.5 to provide the information that you require
- Create queries to drill down to the information you need;
- Use our flexible reports to meet the needs of your organisation;
- Use V-Base 3.0’s inbuilt views to group your data into subsets;
- Export and import custom queries and reports you’ve created so you can easily benefit from the work of other V-Base 3.0 users.
Improved interface
For V-Base 3.0 we’ve completely rebuilt both the front and back ends of the database to create a modern application that is more intuitive, stable and secure:
- Enjoy the benefits of a new interface that is modern, professional and more intuitive to use;
- Customise your user preferences to make using V-Base 3.0 even quicker and easier;
- Export data from your V-Base 3.0 calendar into Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar or another calendar application;
- Easily keep V-Base 3.0 updated, by automatically downloading software updates.
- Set permission levels for users so they can only access data appropriate to their role.
