V-Base asks to backup every time it is launched

Added to V-Base 2.5 on August 25, 2010

Following installation of the V-Base Olympics inspired update you may experience an inconvenience of V-Base requesting you create a backup each time you log on. This guide will talk you through how to stop this from happening.

Please make sure all computers you are running V-Base on are all upgraded to 2.5 build 3

Please take the following steps on every computer that is experiencing the problem.

1)    First, make sure V-Base is closed down

2)    Open your ‘My Computer’

3)    If you are running Windows XP Navigate, go to "C:Program FilesV-Base", otherwise go to "C:V-Base"

4)    Within this folder you will find a file called V-Base.ini - this may be labelled as ‘V-Base Configuration Settings’ and the icon will resemble a note pad with a cog next to it

5)    Open V-Base.ini by double clicking the icon

6)    Please be careful when modifying this file as it contains information about how V-Base is set up

7)    If you scroll down the file you will come to a section that states

[CHANGES]

Checked=0

Reg=-1

8)    Modify the Checked=0 to read Checked=-1

9)    Save the changes to this .ini file and close note pad

10)   Launch V-Base and this should no longer appear

This should resolve the problem you are experiencing.
