Duplication of opportunities on Do-it

Sometimes the same opportunity appears on Do-it more than once, causing confusion for people searching the database

This normally happens when both a volunteer centre (using V-Base) and an organisation using the V-Base Recruiter post the same opportunities on Do-it.

How to avoid duplication

• Organisations posting directly on Do-it should contact the relevant volunteer centres to ask them to stop uploading their opportunities onto Do-it
• VCs should then stop uploading the relevant opportunities by unticking the 'include on website' tick box on the last step of the opportunity wizard in V-Base
• VCs can still help organisations to recruit volunteers locally
• Organisations and VCs should work together to keep each other updated to offer better quality opportunities and maximise reach.

Future developments

We are working towards allowing users of V-Base Recruiter to electronically share opportunity data with volunteer centres. This means that organisations will be able to post their opportunities online and choose which volunteer centres they want to host their opportunities locally, keeping volunteer centres up-to-date and hopefully resolving any duplication issues.
