What to do when an opportunity is reported?
When a volunteer reports one of your opportunities, you will receive an e-mail from Do-it detailing the reason that opportunity has been reported, along with any comments added by the volunteer.
The aim of the reporting function is to harness the power of Do-it users to ensure that accuracy of your opportunities on the website and in your database too. By picking up on opportunities which are out-of-date or otherwise misleading and reporting them, volunteers using Do-it help us all to meet our responsibility to provide up-to-date and correct information. By working together we can ensure that Do-it remains full of clear and well written volunteering opportunities.
If one of your opportunities is reported, we ask that you check the opportunity in question to see if the volunteer has submitted a valid report. We ask that you do this and make any necessary amendments to the opportunity within seven days, please inform the volunteer directly once you have done this. If you are unable to do so, we ask that you temporarily remove the opportunity from Do-it until it has been corrected.
If the report is not valid, or it is a case of a volunteer incorrectly using the report function to request further information about the opportunity, we would ask that you respond to the volunteer appropriately.
We are currently working to improve and refine the opportunity reporting process. In particular, we will soon be including a link to the reported opportunity within the e-mail that we send you. We will also be clarifying the wording on our report an opportunity page to cut down on the number of volunteers who do use the functionality to request further information.
We would like to thank all our members for engaging positively with this new development, and for your patience as we now refine this new functionality. As with any other aspect of our services, we do always welcome your feedback and comments. You can get in touch with us via e-mail or by telephone on 020 7250 5700.
