  • What is V-Base Recruiter?

    It's a way of getting your organisation's volunteering opportunities onto Do-it's opportunity search and several other websites such as DirectGov and the Community Channel. You get a password-protected account and can post and manage your opportunities online. V-Base Recruiter used to be known as the Online Poster System. We've changed the name of to be more in line with our volunteering management software, V-Base, and to aid our communication with potential new partners.
  • Is it open to all organisations?

    It's aimed at national or regional organisations wanting to post opportunities on Do-it. Local organisations normally advertise their opportunities through their local Volunteer Centre, which upload opportunities on their behalf. However, local organisations in an area without a Volunteer Centre can obtain an V-Base Recruiter account. Local organisations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland can also apply for an account, although they should also register their opportunities with the local Volunteer Centre.
  • What if I already use V-Base?

    If you use our volunteering management software V-Base you probably won't need an V-Base Recruiter account as well.
  • What is the difference between V-Base Recruiter and V-Base?

    Both V-Base and V-Base Recrutier allow you to post opportunities online on Do-it. V-Base is a PC-based database software that enables you to manage your opportunities and volunteers. If you are promoting volunteering opportunities on behalf of other organisations, V-Base also allows you to store details of the organisations you are working with and link them to specific opportunities. It also allows you to run specific reports. Find out more about V-Base. V-Base Recrutier allows you to manage and advertise your own opportunities on the internet, so you can log in from any PC. The V-Base Recruiter does not allow you to manage your volunteers. With V-Base Recruiter you can create sub-accounts for your branches or shops so that they can manage their own opportunities. Plus, you can advertise opportunities countywide.
  • How should I choose between V-Base and V-Base Recruiter?

    It depends on your organisation's needs: whether you need a desktop software that allows you to manage your opportunities and volunteers (V-Base) or a flexible online system that allows you to store and advertise your opportunities online (V-Base Recruiter).   • Can I manage my branch opportunities, too?

    V-Base Recruiter enables you to set up head office and branch accounts that can be managed centrally or locally. It's a flexible system that allows you to work in the way that best suits your organisation.
  • How much does V-Base Recruiter cost?

    The annual fee for an account depends on the gross annual income of your organisation. See our prices page for further information.
  • Why do I have to pay at all?

    YouthNet is a charity, but we still have to pay our way. We think V-Base Recrutier is excellent value for money, giving you an excellent tool to manage your opportunities and upload them to a database that is viewed by tens of thousands of people every month. Your contribution is not profit for YouthNet but will allow us further develop the V-Base Recruiter.   • Is there training available?

    Yes, all new account holders get one free training place at our London offices. Additional training is also available.
  • What about support?

    The V-base Recruiter is fully supported for account holders.
