- What is the Online Poster System?
It's a way of getting your organisation's volunteering opportunities onto do-it.org.uk's opportunity search and several other websites such as DirectGov and the Community Channel. You get a password-protected account and can post and manage your opportunities online. - Is it open to all organisations?
It's aimed at national or regional organisations wanting to post opportunities on do-it.org.uk. Local organisations normally advertise their opportunities through their local Volunteer Centre, which upload opportunities on their behalf. However, local organisations in an area without a Volunteer Centre can obtain an Online Poster account. Local organisations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland can also apply for an account, although they should also register their opportunities with the local Volunteer Centre. - What if I already use V-Base?
If you use our volunteering management software V-Base you probably won't need an Online Poster account as well. - What is the difference between the Online Poster System and V-Base?
Both V-Base and the Online Poster System allow you to post opportunities online on do-it.org.uk. V-Base is a PC-based database software that enables you to manage your opportunities and volunteers. If you are promoting volunteering opportunities on behalf of other organisations, V-Base also allows you to store details of the organisations you are working with and link them to specific opportunities. It also allows you to run specific reports. Find out more about V-Base. The Online Poster System allows you to manage and advertise your own opportunities on the internet, so you can log in from any PC. The Online Poster System does not allow you to manage your volunteers. With the Online Poster System you can create sub-accounts for your branches or shops so that they can manage their own opportunities. Plus, you can advertise opportunities countywide. - How should I choose between V-Base and the Online Poster System?
It depends on your organisation's needs: whether you need a desktop software that allows you to manage your opportunities and volunteers (V-Base) or a flexible online system that allows you to store and advertise your opportunities online (Online Poster System). To discuss your options with a member of our team please contact us. - Can I manage my branch opportunities, too?
The Online Poster System enables you to set up head office and branch accounts that can be managed centrally or locally. It's a flexible system that allows you to work in the way that best suits your organisation. - How much does the Online Poster System cost?
The annual fee for an account depends on the gross annual income of your organisation. See our prices page for further information. - Why do I have to pay at all?
YouthNet is a charity, but we still have to pay our way. We think the Online Poster System is excellent value for money, giving you an excellent tool to manage your opportunities and upload them to a database that is viewed by tens of thousands of people every month. Your contribution is not profit for YouthNet but will allow us further develop the Online Poster System. Read the testimonials for more evidence of how an Online Poster account can help you recruit volunteers. - Is there training available?
Yes, all new account holders get one free training place at our London offices. Additional training is also available. - What about support?
The Online Poster System is fully supported for account holders. - Which other organisations use the Online Poster System?
The Online Poster System is used by a wide range of different organisations. Read testimonials, or see a full list of account holders. - How do I get an Online Poster account?
