The opportunity

Responsible to:

-Exhibitions Co-Ordinator.
-BEN staff.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

-Raising awareness of BEN (full training given)
-Helping to man the BEN tent.
-Selling National Draw tickets.
-Issuing childrens identification wristbands.

The organisation

BEN currently helps and supports over 15 000 people, who are linked to the automotive and related industries either directly or as a dependent, in their homes across the UK through a network of welfare officers and voluntary visitors (BENfriends). In addition BEN has four nursing and residential centres across the country, combining sheltered housing, residential accommodation and nursing beds. The emphasis is on providing a high quality of life for all residents, across all centres. BEN also has a workplace day care centre for the elderly in Coventry.

BEN is not cause specific. This means that we support people who suffer from a variety of problems, ranging from health (cancer, disability, mental illness, injury) to financial (debt, bills) to emotional (bereavement, not being able to cope). The only stipulation is that beneficiaries need to work or have worked in the automotive industries sometime in their life.

We highly value all our volunteers and hope to offer them a rewarding, interesting and fun time. Full support and training is always given to volunteers and we endeavor to offer opportunities that are as tailor made to the individual volunteer, as possible. BEN truly does have some of the widest and most diverse volunteering opportunities, ranging from welfare to fundraising to events to centre support to office work.

Applicant requirements:

-Someone trustworthy.
-Excellent communicator.
-Someone punctual.
-Someone interested in cars & motorcycles.

Times you can volunteer:

• Saturday: Morning , Afternoon , Evening
• Sunday: Morning , Afternoon , Evening
