The opportunity

Exciting opportunity young people (16-25) to develop their journalistic skills and write an article opinion piece on the Olympic Games in London 2012.
You will be given an Olympic theme to write about and you will talk with other young people to inform your article. You will also add in your own opinions and provoke people to think about the London 2012 games from a new angle.
Activities include: speaking to other young people, working in a small team, writing the article.
The article will be published with a series of others on the Olympics and will be a chance for the youth to get their opinion out where it matters! The journal is sent to important policy makers across London- so get involved and get those policy makers thinking!

The organisation

The East Vinvolved Team work with organisations across East London to manage a number of volunteering opportunities in East and South East London, specifically: Havering, Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham, Bexley, Lewisham, Greewich, Tower Hamlets, Hackney or City.

You can apply for this position if you are aged 16-25 and live, work or study within these boroughs, this opportunity may be specific to one or more boroughs as specified in the ad, see description.

We will pass your application directly to the opportunity provider who will contact you with more details. You will also be put in touch with your local Youth Volunteer Advisor who will support you throughout your volunteering placement.

Skills/Qualifications

Good writing skills are needed. Must be able to work independently as well as in a small team.
No qualifications needed but must be able to show writing ability through past work, education or experience.
