Beverley Harris joined the newly created online Members Advisory Panel in February. Here she explains her reasons for joining and how shes found the experience so far.

“I decided to join MAP really as an experiment to see where it went, and to be fully aware of every aspect of running a Volunteer Centre. I also wanted to find out what the experience of being involved in an online discussion group was like.

I’ve found the experience to be very interesting, as I’ve had the opportunity to hear opinions and views on how we manage our information from other Volunteer Centres. 

The shared experience and frustrations have been very enlightening, as it shows that we all have the same challenges to overcome. It’s also gratifying, of course, for my views to be considered by others.

I look forward to continuing with this process to discuss all aspects of V-Base and Do-it, particularly with V-Base 3 coming out in the future. I’m sure that my colleagues will be able to highlight its new functionality, and point out its use in information management for Volunteer Centres.”
