The Students' Blog e-mail this to a friend

If you think students spend all their spare time avoiding studying, going out with their mates and having a good time then you'd be right. Well our student bloggers do anyway. While they assure us they don't slack on the study, they've got a lot to answer for when it comes to enjoying themselves while volunteering.

Why is it so cold ?

Is it me or is it suddenly very cold ?

Now really much to report! The new courses are still going strong and all the cadets seem to be enjoying the new skills they are learning. The Newage Race Hike is being held again this year, where teams of cadets follow a course and try to be the fastest (without running). There are plenty of checkpoints along the way so no one gets lots and all in all it is a lot of fun for cadets and adults. This year I will be marshalling on one of the checkpoints. It seems like this year we will have enough cadets to make one or two teams, increasing our chances of winning.

After half term the courses will continue, to finish with the Christmas party, which is already being organised. It is only 12 weeks away, and things tend to get booked up pretty early when it comes to Christmas. Currently, we are asking the cadets if they would like to invite members from the county divisions so they will be able to meet up with their friends from different divisions.

Stay warm
