The Students' Blog e-mail this to a friend

If you think students spend all their spare time avoiding studying, going out with their mates and having a good time then you'd be right. Well our student bloggers do anyway. While they assure us they don't slack on the study, they've got a lot to answer for when it comes to enjoying themselves while volunteering.

Cadet of the Year

Again not really that much to report this week - seems to be going a bit slow.

Cadet of the year competition was held at the weekend, which involves cadets battling in out to be voted Lincolnshire's cadet of the year and then going on to try and become national cadet of the year for 2006/07. The day involved cadets answering questions in an interview,  giving a presentation to all the people there, group discussions, a uniform inspection and team activities.

A big thank you to all the cadets from throughout the county who came and a massive well done to Jo and Adele this year’s Cadet of the year and Deputy. I would also like to say a big thanks to Nikki who organised the whole day and all the people on the judging panel, including last years Cadet of the year Kelly.

As for my new volunteering project at the nursery - it is not going well. Trouble with school and the placement is making it really difficult for me to go and help out so it's looking like a bit of a dead end. I'm currently trying again to find a new placement along the same lines which my school will allow me to do in my free lessons.

I will keep you updated
